Orthios’ consented 299MWe biomass power station was granted a Lawful Development Certificate by Ynys Môn Council in August 2016, following a 9-month process of detailed architectural design and engineering process specification. This is a key part of Orthios’ plans for the Holyhead site.

Orthios has developed an innovative modular solution for thermal power generation which is fuelled by biomass derived from forestry residues or agricultural by-products. All our fuel is required to meet strict sustainability criteria and we will publicly report against these criteria on an annual basis.
